Obama's Drone Terrorism

December 15, 2012

OBAMA THE TYRANT - Barack Obama uses drones and Hellfire missiles extensively to carry out extra-judicial killings and terrorize the civilian populations living under the drones.  American researchers have found that U.S. drones often use the well-known terrorist tactic of striking a second time after first responders have arrived to tend to those injured in the first attack.  This is criminal.

U.S. drones flying over Afghanistan and Pakistan employ a terrorism tactic known as the "double tap," which the U.S. government itselfconsiders to be a terrorist act and a war crime.  The double tap tactic is when a drone strikes a targeted site with ‘Hellfire’ missiles in relatively quick succession, meaning that the second missile often kills the first responders aiding the victims of the first strike.

A 2012 report from the NYU School of Law and Stanford Law School entitled Living Under Drones concludes that this tactic raises "crucial moral and legal concerns.  Not only does the practice put into question the extent to which secondary strikes comply with international humanitarian law’s basic rules ... but it also potentially violates specific legal protections for medical and humanitarian personnel, and for the wounded.  As international law experts have noted, intentional strikes on first responders may constitute war crimes."

If there are "secondary drone strikes on rescuers who are helping (the injured) after an initial drone attack, those further attacks are a war crime," Christof Heyns, U.N. special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings, told The Guardian

It is quite clear that Obama’s drone war is both illegal and immoral. “There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that allows the president to make private war on individuals,” Esquire’s Charles P. Pierce wrote about Obama’s “kill list.”
